SALVATION

The Bible tells us in Romans 10:9-10, If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

This prayer will guide you in the first step of your Christian life:

“Lord, I admit I am a sinner. I need and want your forgiveness. I accept your death as the penalty for my sin, and recognize that your mercy and grace are gifts you offer to me because of your great love, not based on anything I have done. Cleanse me and make me your child. By faith I receive you into my heart as the Son of God and as Savior and Lord of my life. From now on, help me live each and every day with you.

In Jesus name, Amen.”

BIBLE STUDY

The Bible is a Christian’s guide to living. 2 Timothy 3:16 tells us every verse is inspired by God, and Hebrews 4:12 tells us every word is living and powerful. The Bible will guide us, train us for good works, and help us fight life’s battles. (See Psalm 119:105, 2 Timothy 3:17 and Ephesians 6:17).

PRAYER

Prayer is a conversation with God. 1 John 5:14 promises that when we pray according to His will, He hears us and is a part of that conversation.

The Bible gives us guidance on how to pray:

  • Begin with praise and by giving thanks. (Philippians 4:4 and Matthew 6:9)
  • Tell God what’s on your heart (Philippians 4:6 and Matthew 6:11-13)
  • Believe what the Bible says about your needs (Philippians 4:7-8 and Matthew 21:22)

What’s Next

Here’s a simple guide to get you started: “Heavenly Father, I thank you for loving me. I believe you can do all things and want good for me.” (Then, openly tell God what’s on your mind and heart. He’s ready to listen.)
