Season of Giving is an amazing opportunity to show the love of Jesus and bless those in the community who are in need. This year, you can choose to make a difference in one of two ways: volunteering and/or donating.
Your donations will go toward providing Thanksgiving baskets to families in need, blessing Ada’s homeless community with care packages, blessing over a hundred elderly people with a special gift, (Forget-Me-Not boxes), as well as partnering with local agencies to provide gifts to local children in need.
You and your family can also volunteer your time to help with any (or all) of these projects. Through your generosity and your willingness to serve, we will be able to bless people in the Ada area and make an eternal impact for Jesus.
Below are the opportunities available for volunteering for the Season of Giving.
This year we will be hosting a drive-thru where people in the community can stop by and pick up groceries for their Thanksgiving meal.
We are looking for volunteers to help distribute baskets on Saturday, November 19th.
The event is from 10 a.m. – noon (or whenever all food has been given out) and as a volunteer you would need to arrive by 9 a.m.
Pies for Irving Center
Irving Senior Center has asked Crosspointe to assist in making 25 pies for the seniors that will be served Thanksgiving meals.
They have asked for a variety (pecan, apple, pumpkin or coconut cream). The pies will need to be dropped off at Crosspointe by noon on Monday, November 21st.
Christmas Gifts For Children
We will be adopting children from local agencies such as CASA, Rolling Hills, and Mama T’s to provide a Christmas gift for each child.
We are looking for people to adopt a child and purchase a $25 gift, wrap it and return it to Crosspointe by Wednesday, December 14th.
Forget Me Not Outreach
Everyone should have the opportunity to celebrate Christmas, even those that may now be in a nursing home.
On Saturday, December 17th at 10:00 AM we will meet at Crosspointe Church and head out to some of the local nursing homes. We will be giving out a special gift to each resident, as well as spreading the hallways with Christmas joy by singing Christmas carols.
So often we get caught up in what is going on in our own lives that we fail to realize the needs right in front of us in our own community.
This year we will be partnering with Mama T’s to provide care packages for our local homeless community.
For $100 you can provide someone in need with a sleeping bag, pillow, hygiene items and shelf stable food. If you are interested, there will be an opportunity to help put these packages together.
