WHAT IS PURPOSE OF CROSSPOINTE GROUPS?

Crosspointe Groups exist to provide intimate and more one-on-one opportunities for intentional moments of connection & purposeful encounters with God.

    • They continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. Acts 2:42
    • Let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together. Hebrews 10:24-25
    • You who are spiritual should restore [one overtaken by trespass] in a spirit of gentleness… Bear one another’s burdens. Galatians 6:1-2

TIPS FOR SUCESS

6

START AND END ON TIME

Most Groups last 1 hour. If the meeting will be longer or shorter, notify attendees prior to the Group.

6

BE WELCOMING

Consider the room temperature, music playing, parking needs, and needs for accessibility. Consider having a member of your Group welcome those entering and make them feel at home.

6

BEGIN WITH FELLOWSHIP

Introductions, sharing stories, icebreakers, and sharing snacks or meals are examples of fellowship.

6

TIME FOR DISCIPLESHIP AND SPIRITUAL GROWTH

This may include the sharing of testimonies, Bible verses, Bible study, or prayer. Leaders should be prepared to listen more than they speak and prepared to steer off-topic or lengthy personal conversations back toward healthy topics.

6

CARE AND FOLLOW UP

Group leaders should be aware of Group needs and follow up with those individuals throughout the week.

6

HAVE STRUCTURE

Be prepared to discuss a topic (raising children, handling change) or to study a Bible story, verse, or devotion. The YouVersion Bible app is a great resource for finding devotional reading plans by topic or for Biblical study. Group participants are responsible for purchasing any books or study guides. Please contact Groups if Bibles (free) are needed.

6

PROVIDE A NEXT STEP

Encourage spiritual growth beyond a weekly meeting. Do an at-home Bible study together, fill up a row at the next Crosspointe service, volunteer together at a community outreach, or encourage those who have not been baptized or attended a Crosspointe fellowship event to sign up.

GROUP GUIDELINES

As a Group leader, please make certain you and your Group follow these guidelines:

MAINTAIN RELATIONAL INTEGRITY

Groups are encouraged to meet off campus at homes, businesses, coffee shops, parks, and other places where life happens. As a reminder, Crosspointe does not offer childcare for Groups. For Groups that meet on campus, children must remain with parents/guardians at all times. Groups meeting in private locations (homes, empty classrooms, etc) should relocate to a public area if only 1 male and 1 female are in attendance (unless they are married).

BE FLEXIBLE

If you meet on campus, remember that events at Crosspointe – including unanticipated events such as funerals – are becoming more frequent. Each time you meet, please be prepared to set up and tear down for your group if necessary.

MAINTAIN SAFETY & SECURITY

Security is important at Crosspointe. If meeting on campus, please keep glass entry doors locked during your group and station a greeter at the door to let people in & out (to avoid doorbell ringing & disturbing other groups & those meeting at the church).

COMMUNICATE WITH GROUP MEMBERS

  • Those interested in your Group will sign up online and you’ll receive their contact information by email. Please follow up within 24 hours by email, phone, or text.
  • After sign up, add them to your method of Group communication & welcome them with information about the next meeting location, date & time.

PROMOTE & GROW YOUR GROUP

Invite others to your group by speaking with friends and family members, promoting on social media, or posting on the Crosspointe Message Board. You are encouraged to think outside of the box when promoting your Group. For example, if your audience is college students, connect with high school counselors to meet with those who are graduating and attending the local university. NOTE: THE CROSSPOINTE LOGO CAN BE USED ONLY WITH THE PERMISSION OF THE GROUPS LEADERS.

UPHOLD CROSSPOINTE VALUES & CULTURE

  • No fundraising or network marketing within, for, or by a group.
  • While snacks, potlucks, and meals are encouraged, alcoholic beverages during group meetings are not permitted.
